These days everybody is bitten by the selfie bug. If you’re on the lookout for interesting ways to document your own changes over time, this video might just be the inspiration that you’ve been waiting for:

This YouTuber, who goes by the pseudonym ‘Dumo’ was, inspired by another YouTuber, but that doesn’t make his video any less impressive. His painstakingly patient effort produced 2,900 pictures over 8 years. In each photo, he managed to place himself in just the right part of the frame to create the flowing motion of the final product.

This is just one of the 2,900 photos used in the film.

Dumo says he’s in the process of making similar stop motion videos of his children.
