UFC President Dana White then confirmed the report to MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani, and also released plans that Johny Hendricks would return to rematch Robbie Lawler for the Dec. 6 event’s new main event. Hendricks’ UFC 170-pound title will be on the line.
The pair squared off initially at UFC 171 on March 14, with Hendricks taking a closely-contested unanimous decision. The champion required surgery to repair a torn right biceps following the clash, from which he is still recovering.
